Hi there! 👋 I’m Zhiqing Wang, a HCI researcher with a deep passion for collaboration—whether it’s among humans, between humans and machines, or across diverse fields like community service, visual design, education and healthcare. I’m currently working with Prof. Steven Dow at UC San Diego’s Protolab and Prof. Zhenhui Peng at Sun Yat-sen University’s HaiA Lab to design and study systems that empower people to work together more effectively.
Previously, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Chongqing University and the University of Cincinnati and completed my master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University.
Besides school, I’ve ventured into some super interesting areas! I spent six months as a Product Manager intern at Tencent WeChat, learning what it takes to create impactful tools for millions of users.I also had the chance to work with Prof. Edward Cunningham at Harvard University, where we researched Chinese philanthropy.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with amazing people across these fields. These experiences have enriched my perspectives and shaped the way I approach my current and future research endeavors.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to chat about research, coffee, or anything else! ☕🤓
